On Dec. 6, the George Washington College Republicans Club hosted its annual Christmas party on the rooftop of the Hotel Hive to celebrate a great semester and holiday cheer. The event had a great turnout, with attendees enjoying good food, drinks, and company.
“There were a lot of faces I had not seen before, and it was nice to meet a variety of people ranging from board members to interested students,” freshman Sophia Trammell said.
The party provided a social setting for students to mingle with other campus Republicans, breaking from the normal business-style operation of the club.
“It was a great opportunity to meet students that I typically would not interact with on a day-to-day basis,” freshman Charley Klemm explained.
The party’s success can be partly owed to shifting attitudes among students in recent years, as students have increasingly joined the conservative side.
“Much of the Christmas Party’s success can be derived from the fact that an ever-increasing number of students are unafraid to celebrate tradition and become more visible in campus life,” GWCR’s Director of Public Relations Russell Keske explained.
Due to the incredible success of this party, the College Republican leadership is looking to throw another similar event in the spring semester.
