On January 22, 2026, the GW College Republicans (GWCRS) started the new year off with a social event at the Trump-Kennedy Center. The event was planned as an effort for members from across the GW College Republicans to get to know one another better, strengthen our common conservative bonds, and simply enjoy some impressive music at America’s leading cultural center.
Club members were exposed to a special treat, bearing witness to award winning Italian conductor Gianandrea Noseda lead the National Symphony Orchestra in their performance of the ‘Songs of Destiny and Fate’. The performance displayed emotional complexities surrounding what destiny is, and listeners from the GW College Republicans took away various thoughts regarding how the performance impacts politics on a spiritual level. Following the conclusion of the show, GW College Republican members had the privilege of meeting Mr. Noseda backstage and thanked him for his exceptional performance.
Club attendees had nothing but positive things to say about the event. Junior Parker Malphrus described the event’s music as “phenomenal” and that it was great “seeing so many members of GWCRS in attendance”. Going forward, Parker believes that “more of these events would be great as our club continues to grow”. The event was even popular among younger members of the club. Freshman Victoria Getley described the event as “a lovely evening” where she got to have “valuable experiences with fellow conservatives on campus”.
Overall, GW College Republicans members benefitted greatly from the first social event of the year. From constructive conversations to a fabulous musical event, the outing to the Trump-Kennedy Center has been a successful start to a promising year.
